An important part of BNE’s role as a Corporate Citizen is to inform the Belizean public about the nation’s emerging oil industry.

BNE has kept its commitment to informing the public by developing industry and company-related publications such as the Crude Facts inserts, the Energy Exchange Report a company brochure and information-filled exercise books for school children.

In addition, presentations are given to schools and organizations throughout the country, trade shows are attended, local media have been invited to tour the facilities and a documentary explaining the formation of oil, the exploration processes and BNE operations has been distributed.

The company has forged relationships with communities adjacent to BNE operations, and has kept residents informed through town-hall meetings and communication with community leaders.

Crude oil - Liquid petroleum as it comes out of the ground. Crude oils range from very light (high in gasoline) to very heavy (high in residual oils). Sour crude is high in sulfur content. Sweet crude is low in sulfur and therefore often more valuable.
