BNE sells Belize Light Crude (BLC) both locally and internationally. BLC is transported using a Belizean fleet of tanker trucks from the Central Gathering Facility at Iguana Creek to the port in Big Creek for shipment abroad. Belize Natural Energy ships oil to buyers in Costa Rica, Panama and Corpus Christi, Texas.  Some BLC is also trucked over land to El Salvador.

BNE’s product has had a positive impact on the aquaculture, citrus and distilleries industries, as well as a number of other local businesses.

BLC yields a high percentage of light end products, and a low heavy fuel oil component.

Although current production is small and therefore market share is equally minimal, BLC has quickly gained respect for its distinct qualities in regional refineries.

With improved storage capacity planned for the near future, and excellent prospects for further field development, BNE anticipates increased production resulting in a growth in market share and sales.

API gravity - The gravity (weight per unit of volume) of crude oil expressed in degrees according to an American Petroleum Institute recommended system. The higher the API gravity, the higher the crude. High-gravity crudes are generally considered more valuable.
